Why do many of the new children know exactly where they want their bed positioned in relation to the bedroom door? What do you do when your three year old tells you that you need to clear the bad entity in the bathroom? Will it make a difference if a highly-sensitive child’s bedroom is over the garage versus positioned in the back or middle of the house? Does a home with strong yang energy affect a sensitive child differently than a home with more yin energy?

How does the ancient science and art of feng shui relate to the New Children? Due to their sensitivities, the New Children have often been likened to canaries being sent into the coal mine. Feng shui can be used to transform the coal mine—to create more harmony and balance in our physical spaces and surroundings. Since our homes and physical surroundings are comprised of endlessly transforming and interconnected energy fields, we must develop a conscious relationship with the vast dynamics contributing to these energy fields.

What is Feng Shui?
Traditional feng shui can be thought of as a blend of psychology, physiology, ecology, geography, architecture, medical science, and spirituality. First documented over 4000 years ago in China, feng shui means “wind and water.” It is based on the same foundational principle that numerous other cultures have acknowledged. There is a life-force energy, or chi, that connects all material and non-material existence; when this energy flow is blocked, we are not fully in our Creative potential.

Throughout history, feng shui took on various focuses and expressions. The earliest form focused on planning and situating buildings and activities in relation to landforms, sun, wind, water, vegetation, and circulation. Other schools emerged and blended wisdoms from China, India, and Tibet—integrating astrology, the directions, the five elements, symbology, yoga, numerology, the I Ching, and Ayurveda.
Instinctive Feng Shui and Interior Alignment integrate cross-cultural principles of feng shui, indigenous teachings, space clearing, and sacred ceremony. This approach emphasizes utilizing our instincts and inner Wisdom within the context of our modern culture and evolving planetary consciousness. It aims to “align” the inner and outer worlds of an individual or family. Its tenets are based on love and what instinctively feels good; not based on fear, or on taboos or rigid guidelines. It is within this intuitive, evolving, and flexible space that I explore and share. It is a space where old rules are being broken and realities shattered. It is a space where we are able to meet and support the new children (and our own shifting).

Home as a Bridge
This time on the planet is about bridging material and non-material realities and dimensions. The New Children are serving as portals and bridges in this transition. Our homes and physical environments are also serving in this function. They are a mirror of the vibrations we hold—our inner desires, sensitivities, challenges, and old constructs. When we come into conscious relationship with our homes and spaces they can serve as vortices of energy on the physical plane, bridging us to new realities of abundance, creative flow, and Love. This is partly why so many of us today feel misaligned in our homes, schools, and work places; our physical environments are not resonant with our current soul and vibratory evolution. How, then, do we upgrade the wiring? How do we create nurturing, healthy, and beautiful spaces to support and reflect us in this time of great change? What does it mean to align our material and non-material realities? How does this affect the children?

Since our homes are the sacred energetic containers for our family interactions, meals, sleep, creative expression, and self-reflection…let’s focus on the home. Our homes are affected by endlessly transforming energy fields.

1. Physical energies within the home such as color, lighting, objects, the bagua, placement, clutter, flooring, and air quality.
2. Emotional energies such as the emotions of home occupants, previous inhabitants, guests, and of the people who constructed the home.
3. Non-physical energies such as devas, numerology, entities, and angels.
4. Physical energies around the home such as sunlight, roads, land formations, nearby buildings, and power lines.
5. Earth energies such as ley lines, geomagnetic lines, and underground water.

When focusing on physical and emotional energies within the home, here are some considerations in creating a supportive, conscious environment.

1. Be clear about your intentions, and see your home as an alive being
2. Trust your inner knowing
3. Explore with the feng shui bagua
4. Minimize clutter
5. Identify and eliminate toxins
6. Create a sacred bedroom

Be clear about your intentions, and see your home as an alive being
Where intention goes, energy flows. Since our homes are mirrors and physical manifestations of our desires, challenges, and vision, it is critical that you align your subconscious and conscious intentions with the overriding energy or Spirit of your home. By doing this, you create a strong bridge between your material and non-material realms, supporting the new energies that the children hold and all of us integrating.
• Ask yourself questions about how your home reflects or doesn’t reflect your life intentions. What do I want to create in my life? What type of parent do I want to be? Does my home feel like a sanctuary for my family? What feels out of balance, or blocked? What are three words to describe how I feel when I walk through my front door? Ask your children and family members to draw a picture for or write down what feels good, or doesn’t feel good in the space.

• Through meditation, contact the Guardians or Spirit of your home. Seek out information about what you need to do to create greater alignment, harmony, love, and clarity. Create a collage that represents your seed vision of a more harmonious home. Involve and trust your children in this process; they will more than likely receive very clear guidance.

• The daily expression of love, and the intention for cultivating love, is the greatest single power you can invoke in your home. Create a mantra, ritual, or blessing to imprint this intention. Use it regularly with the participation of your children and family.

• Think of your home as a living and breathing being. Each room is holding positive and alive energies, and/or negative and stagnant energies. These energies are affected by color, clutter, emotions, placement, intentions, etc. You want each room to embrace you and to allow the life force of the home to freely flow through the space like water.

Trust your Inner Knowing
What matters most is how you feel in the space. Cultivate and learn to trust this intuition. How you feel in your gut and heart overrides any guidelines or taboos of feng shui or any other practice. There is no black and white, right or wrong. Like a human, your home is an extremely complex and dynamic being.
• Developing a deeper relationship with your space requires clearing your own energy—dealing with the old patterns, emotions, and constructs that block you. The clearer you become, the deeper you will connect with and support the new energies of the children.

• As you clear and grow, cultivate the skills for invoking sacred energies, cleansing spaces, and directing/channeling energy. These skills are very important since so many of the new children are extremely sensitive to disharmonious space, including the presence of disruptive entities and non-physical beings.

• As our inner home shifts, our outer home shifts; as our outer home shifts, our inner home shifts. Observe this dance; explore how the home serves as your bridge and laboratory in transformation. For example, if one day you seem intensely called to paint your walls a different color or clean out your garage, do it. There’s a reason this is coming up for you. The new children and energies are here to stir up and shake out that which no longer serves. Trust your inner knowing as this plays out in the physical sacred container of home. Embrace this process, and experiment.

Explore with the Feng Shui Bagua
The bagua is a main tool use in feng shui. It is an energetic grid or map that is placed over the home. It is used to show how energy flows through a space and how areas of the home relate to particular aspects of life. The bagua is positioned so that the front door is along one of the three front areas of the bagua (career, inner knowledge, or helpful people.) So, the back right corner of your home (when you’re standing at the doorway facing into your home) is associated with Relationships. There are elements and colors associated with each area.

• Using the bagua make note of what is happening in that area of your life. Then note what how you feel in that part of your house. For example, let’s say that your living room is in the Inner Knowledge area (relating to introspection and inner guidance) but you never use that room. What is happening in this area of your life?
• Be creative and intuitive in shifting the energy of the rooms to optimize the life area of the bagua. You may decide to change the usage of your rooms. Play with colors, objects, textures, and expressions that symbolize that life area. Explore the balance of elements in each room—fire, wood, water, metal, and earth. Experiment with sounds, smells, plants, crystals, water fountains, candles, chimes, and lighting.

Minimize Clutter
There are three main types of clutter: physical, mental, and emotional. Clutter affects the flow of life and chi in your home. It is an accumulation of things that are no longer loved or needed; it drags you down energetically, and confines your inner and outer realities. There is a direct relationship between clearing your clutter and shifting into higher states of consciousness and functioning. When you address clutter, you come into deeper clarity and presence as a parent, partner, individual, and spiritual being.
• Spend 1-2 hours walking through your home and making notes on what does or does not represent your life vision. Physical clutter is anything that you don’t love, use (in the last year), or need. Every material object in your home either raises or supports your vibration, or depresses it.
• Spend time reflecting on and journaling about what emotional and mental clutter weighs you down—old thought patterns, feelings of guilt or shame, regrets, over-filled schedules, unfulfilled dreams, or unexpressed grief.
• There do seem to be differences amongst the new children in terms of their tolerance for clutter; generally, indigos and older indigos seem less tolerant than younger crystals. Overall, however, I have observed that their identities are not linked or attached to the clutter (as identities commonly are in 3D consciousness.)

Identify and Eliminate Toxins
Creating a healthy sacred home requires being aware of the toxins inflicting most of our spaces—formaldehyde, radon, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and others. Our buildings and spaces are “sick” and nurturing and helping them is directly linked to our consciousness evolution. The new children have clearly shown us this through their chemical and environmental sensitivities. It takes resources and a commitment to nurture a healthy home. The first step is to become aware, and then make a reasonable plan and timeline for making changes.
• Consider using natural cleaning products, natural paints, non-toxic flooring, EMF protectors, daylight bulbs, non-toxic packaging, natural bedding and upholstery, water filtration, organic food, and air filtration. If building or remodeling consider natural building materials, environmental landscaping, careful site selection, and low-impact water and waste systems.

Create a Sacred Bedroom
Creating a sacred bedroom is a critical piece in supporting the new children (and ourselves!) The bedroom is a place for grounding, rejuvenation, solitude, integration, intimacy, and healing. I sometimes tell people that if they only focus on one area of their home, focus on the bedrooms!

• Use visualizations, intentions, space-clearing, and other methods to help a sensitive child feel safe from nightmares and entities. Be sensitive to the material of your (and your child’s) bed-frame. Metal headboards can be an attraction for disruptive non-physical beings.
• Minimize or eliminate EMF devices such as computers, TVs, and radios. These can be very disruptive for the children.
• Position the bed to be able to see the door, but not in direct line with the door. Many parents have shared how sensitive their children are to this.
• Use essential oils, soft music, visualizations, and soft lighting in a nighttime ritual. Let this be a sacred time to clear and connect before entering sleep realm. Be cautious of having too many large or powerful crystals in the room during sleep; they can be disruptive to many children.
• Especially for a highly-sensitive child or teen, paint the room a calming, yin color. Color has a significant impact on the entire energetic system. Also, reduce the overall clutter in the room.
• Many of the new children are very sensitive to the positioning of their bedroom in the house. Being too close to the front door may cause them to feel vulnerable. A bedroom over the garage may make them feel disconnected from the family. If they’re in the far back of the home they may dominate the family dynamic. Recently, I worked with a family whose sensitive crystal child’s room was over the garage. She never liked sleeping or playing in her room. (She always wanted to sleep with her sister.) I recommended that her mother invoke an intention and place a mirror (face down, to deflect the garage energy) under the girl’s bed. Immediately that night and the following days, both girls slept and played in that room.
• For parents and adults, make your bedroom your sanctuary. Clean out the clutter. Make it a no paper zone. Explore with textures, colors, and objects to create a space of solace, healing, sensuality, and love.

Sacred Home as a Mindfulness Practice
Cultivating a sacred home is not one more thing to put on the to-do or goal list. It is an ongoing mindfulness practice, bridging material and non-material dimensions. It is a dynamic, mysterious adventure that challenges us to show up in loving presence—in our challenges, choices, actions, and words. It is about seeing the home as a portal to new realities of love, healing, and beauty. It is about trusting our inner wisdom to create expressive sanctuaries for our spiritual journeys as human beings. As we do this, we allow for the fullest potential of the children, and of our shifting planet.

Beauty is merely the Spiritual making itself known sensuously. – Hegel

Most people are curious about a child’s ability to meditate. Many adults can’t seem to find the time nor have the patience, so people wonder how could a child sit still long enough to meditate? Remarkably, children love to meditate. Meditation allows children to use their creative imagination without limitation. As a former schoolteacher and certified hypnotherapist, I’ve been working with children since 1991 and currently teach meditation techniques to children.

I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to work with children who are creative, intuitive, physically and emotionally sensitive and nonconforming. Many of these children, also called Indigo Children, have been diagnosed with ADD, ADHD and bipolar disorder and are brought to me by parents who are looking for a drug-free solution. In most cases these labels are neither necessary nor helpful. If a child associates herself with words such as disorder and deficit, her self-confidence is affected and she may believe she will be defined by these terms for the rest of her life. However ignoring her symptoms is not the answer either. A child who is very energetic and has trouble focusing, is usually frustrated and unhappy and will benefit from alternative therapies.

Meditation has proven effective with helping children become more attentive, which begins with a child’s ability to focus on himself. Meditation is a time for children to explore their inner world. Children are fascinated with clouds in the sky and stories on television; however, they are most captivated by their own thoughts.

Many adults have trouble opening their inner mind to see the visual images useful in meditation. Children, on the other hand, are by nature visual and easily hold and explore their inner images. Having taught both adults and children how to meditate, I have found children to be the better students.

The facilitator of the child’s experience determines the success his meditation. Anyone can become a dynamic child meditation facilitator, whether they are a parent, teacher or therapist. The facilitator should be familiar with the most important benefits a child attains through meditation, practice and awareness. When a child meditates, he practices something in his head so later it is easier for him to carry out the particular action or feeling. Meditation also brings into consciousness thoughts the child is unaware of during normal consciousness.

Practice: something we do so we feel better later
When we practice a process in our minds, we are able to successfully repeat this process in the real world. Simply stated, we do something in our heads so we feel better later. This is similar to working out our body at the gym. We strengthen our biceps so we are able to lift a heavy box later. Likewise, during meditation Ashley practices how to let go of the angry energy in her body in a meditation. Then after meditating it is easier for her to let go of her anger when confronted with a conflict.

The most ideal practice meditations bring calmness and focus to a child. These meditations are quite grounding, that is they bring a child into balance with the natural rhythms of the earth, which results in physical stability and emotional ease. A child can practice these meditations absolutely anywhere, even in her classroom when she begins to feel distracted or frustrated.

For example, the Sleepy Cloud meditation helps a restless child bring sleepy thoughts into her inner mind, allowing her to fall asleep. The Flower meditation teaches children how to open up like a flower, allowing them to let go of specific fears and welcome new experiences.

Awareness: Seeing thoughts hidden deep down inside our minds
Meditation is also useful for bringing into consciousness a subconscious thought. For example, Keith practices a release meditation during which a picture of a frightening movie scene appears in his mind. When he shares this, the facilitator learns that this scene may be causing a fear he has been expressing recently. This awareness prompts a conversation about the scene, and coupled with more meditation brings peace to the child.

An effective awareness meditation is the Time Machine. Children are able to travel through time to the future, giving the facilitator an indication of how the child views his own future and the future of the world. Another example is the Tree meditation, during which the child sees a tree with happy and sad fruit. He nurtures his sad fruit in a special way; and consequently, both the child and facilitator better understand what actions need to be taken to help him out of his own sadness.

Getting Started
Meditation is a relatively big word for most children. This word is sometimes a foreign concept to adults and therefore can be intimidating to the facilitator.
However, it is a big word for something very simple! Moreover, there is no right or wrong answer for what meditation means. I define it as sitting very still, usually with our eyes closed and thinking about something on purpose, as opposed to daydreaming.

Before beginning a meditation, ask the child to close her eyes and think about what her bedroom looks like. When she opens her eyes ask her, If your eyes were closed when you saw the picture of your bedroom, then how did you see the picture? Performing this short exercise and participating in a discussion about it should alleviate any fears associated with not being able to meditate.

Next, explain to the child how people usually position their body during meditation. Then let her know any position is perfect as long as she is comfortable. She can meditate sitting up in a chair, lying down, or sitting cross-legged on the floor. Let her know it is best if her eyes are closed, and it might be easier if she puts her hands over her eyes to help keep them closed. Remind the child that she can meditate anywhere. In fact she can meditate for a few minutes in her school classroom without anyone knowing what she is doing. She can even meditate with her eyes open if she prefers.

The following meditation allows a child to connect with his male and female energies; however, I refer to the female energy as the Listener and the male energy as the Doer.
After facilitating the short exercise above and before beginning the Listener-Doer meditation, discuss the many different parts of ourselves: the part that likes to have fun, the part that likes to be sad, the part that likes to be loud, and the part that likes to be quiet.

The Listener-Doer meditation introduces the child to the part of himself that likes to listen. Not necessarily the aspect who listens to Mom and Dad, but the part who listens to himself. To better demonstrate this concept, place an object in front of the child. A stuffed animal or a plant is an excellent choice, as long as it is something he is likely to communicate with. Ask him to close his eyes and ask the stuffed animal a question. How does Teddy feel today? When he has heard a response talk about what he heard so he understands what is meant by listening.

This meditation also acquaints the child with the part of himself who likes to do things, such as walking, talking, yelling, and hugging. The Listener-Doer meditation encourages a quiet timid child to become more confident to act on his inner voice and helps a very active child to listen to his inner voice as opposed to acting unconsciously.

The Meditation - Take the child through this fascinating journey.
Close your eyes. You can put your hands over your eyes, if you want to. Take in a deep breath. Now when you breathe back out, feel your body relaxing. We’ll take two more breaths. Deep breath in, and relax your legs as you breath out. Deep breath in. Relax your arms and neck as you breathe out.

I would like you to imagine yourself in one of your favorite places. It doesn’t matter where you are, just as long as you like being there. I want you to see the Listener part of yourself playing with you. You might see this part of yourself as an animal or a special character or your Listener might look just like you, like a twin. While you are there with the Listener, ask him or her what it needs to be happy. (Pause) What did your Listener say to you? Is there anything you want to tell your Listener?

Now I want you to see the Doer part of yourself playing with you and the Listener. Your Doer might be an animal, or a special character, or might look just like you. While you are there with the Doer, ask him or her what it needs to be happy. (Pause) What did the Doer say? Is there anything you want to tell the Doer?

Your Listener and Doer have presents for you. See the Listener give you a present. If it is wrapped up, unwrap it and see what they gave you. See the Doer give you a present. If it is wrapped up, unwrap it and see what they gave you. Give your Listener and Doer a great big hug and thank them for being with you today in your meditation.

When you are done talking to your Listener and Doer, go ahead and open your eyes.

Follow-up Activities
Discussing what the child experienced during the meditation is as important as the meditation itself. After the meditation, ask the child one or more of the following questions and assist her to understand what her meditation symbolized. What did your Listener say it needed to be happy? What did your Doer say it needed to be happy? What presents did they give you? Do you know why they gave those presents to you?

Art, writing and music are effective ways for a child to integrate a meditation into her world. Working on an art project allows the child to hold the memory of the meditation in her consciousness for additional time while she reflects on her experience. Additional ah-ha’s can be discovered during this process. Writing and music activities bring about the same positive results.

For a follow-up art project for the Listener-Doer meditation, have the child make puppets of her Listener and Doer and encourage her to use the puppets to continue to communicate with her Listener and Doer. These can be made out of paper lunch bags or socks. She can glue items on to her sock puppets or draw and color on the paper bags. Keep in mind, art projects can be as simple as drawing a picture of something she experienced during her meditation.

Reiki is an ancient healing practice that involves using universal healing energy to heal physical and emotional wounds. Teaching Reiki to children started with my two year old daughter Mayah. Or maybe it was her teaching me? Her openness and willingness to send healing energy to others has been eye opening to all who have seen her. She began at a healing group I take her to regularly. Mayah has sent energy to people on the table, and has on occasion gotten on the table herself to accept healing from others. This is what opened me to consider teaching Reiki to the crystal children of the world. These children are already gifted with healing and psychic abilities, and it is our job as their parents, guardians, grandparents etc. to guide and assist our children to understand and explore their healing gifts. Reiki is a perfect place to begin as is simple and easy for children to learn.

Teaching toddlers like my daughter require a shorter session as toddlers have a shorter attention span. Mayah needs lots of attention and interaction. I offer her crayons, which helps, so she can draw the symbols we use. My daughter is not a Reiki Master yet, but I have no doubt she will become one if she chooses too.

I encourage other Reiki Masters to consider teaching children Reiki; the experience will be well worth the effort for you and the children. Remember the crystal children are here to teach us Love, as well as to learn from us. I also recently learned that I am not the only Reiki Master to consider teaching children Reiki. Barbara McKell of soulconnection.ca has taught children Reiki and has written a book on the subject, called Reiki Kids.

by Dale Figtree, Ph.D., Nutritionist

In today's world information about food can be very confusing. Millions of dollars are spent by food companies on advertising designed to persuade people, especially children, into wanting cheaply made foods that may taste good, but are not healthy for their bodies. More then ever before children suffer from being overweight and from having allergies, asthma, ear infections, diabetes, ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and sadly, from cancer.

It is of great importance for children to understand the strong connection between what they eat and the health of their bodies. The wonderful thing about kids and teens is that they are interested in knowing how things work. I find if I can explain the connection between good food and good health, most are amazed and delighted to try new things.

The earth provides food containing all the vitamins, minerals and other healthy nutrients our bodies need to be the best they can. Food closest to it's natural fresh state is the most healthful because it contains the highest amount of nutrients. For example, a fresh apple is a wonderful food containing many vitamins such as Vitamin C and Beta Carotene, and minerals such as Calcium, and Magnesium. On top of that it also contains clean water, and good fiber. The vitamins help the body burn energy and protect us from poisons like pesticides and other chemicals that affect all of us. Minerals are used to build bones and other body tissue as well as contribute to good energy levels. Fiber carries the food more quickly and effectively through the digestive track. It absorbs the environmental poisons and carries them out of the body quickly.

If an apple is turned into bottled apple juice, it is usually put through a high heat process so that it will last a long time on the shelf. Unfortunately, this high heat also kills most of the vitamins. In addition, the juicing process takes all of the fiber out of the fruit, which also raises the calories per serving. So there is a big difference between eating an apple then drinking apple juice.
Continued Page 3
The same is true of most breakfast cereals, bread and pasta. The original grain is full of fiber and B vitamins, which help balance brain function and moods. Unfortunately, since most of the manufactures have stripped away the basic vitamins, minerals and fiber in these products, they then add back some synthetic vitamins to make up for the depletion. These synthetic vitamins are not as potent as natural vitamins found in food. Also synthetic vitamins do not have the important combinations and balance of nutrients found in natural foods.

Several popular cereals and breads now advertise that they are healthy, however, if you read the ingredients, many of these products have hidden sugars and other chemicals. For example, instead of saying sugar, they say things like high fructose corn syrup - what tricksters! Fructose, even though it is originally from fruit, still is a concentrated sugar, which can put too much glucose in the blood stream at one time, contributing to excess weight.

Whole grain cereals and breads that are closest to their natural state are much higher in nutrients. Some of these are: oatmeal, 7 grain cereals, whole grain breads, and a cereal called Muesli. If you want to sweeten them, just add delicious fresh fruit. Other examples of whole grains include brown rice flour products such as brown flour rice cakes, brown cream of rice, unsweetened rice milk, whole grain rice breads and also corn products like corn tortillas, corn pasta and polenta. Most of these products can be found in health food stores.

But still be cautious. If you buy these products, read the label and make sure they are only full of good ingredients with nothing chemical added - no names that you can't understand! The foods highest in vitamins, minerals, and fiber are fresh salads, vegetables and fruit. Contrary to what you may have been taught, greens are high in calcium. Look at cows - they eat green grass all day and are incredibly sturdy beasts, producing a lot of calcium in their milk. Where do they get all that calcium from if they don't drink milk? They get it from the greens they eat, which are very rich in minerals.

Cow's milk is great for calves who gain 1000 pounds in a year, but for many humans it can contribute to mucus in the throat and increased colds and ear infections, as well as acne. Also, unhealthy hormones are given to cows to overwork and overproduce. These hormones may lead to cancer in people many years later. If you want to drink milk, it is healthier to drink organic milk without hormones and other chemicals, or try vegetable milk - either soy milk, almond milk or rice milk.

When you change and process foods, they not only lose a lot of their nutrients, but they lose their color, texture and taste. Therefore, manufacturers add chemicals, sugar and high amounts of salt to make their product look and taste better. Chemical preservatives are also added, which make the food last unnaturally long. The problem is, a lot of these chemicals cause reactions in people, especially children. They can contribute to allergies, asthma, hyperactivity and an inability to concentrate (Attention Deficit Disorder).

There are several food dyes, especially a red dye, used in American processed foods that are banned in other countries because they are suspected of being potentially carcinogenic. BHT is one of many preservatives suspected of potential health problems. In addition, many emulsifiers and texturizers are also potentially problematic.

A wise way to avoid these problems is to choose foods that are closest to their natural state. Besides salads, fresh vegetable sticks, and fruits, other high nutrient foods are nuts, brown rice, eggs, vegetables lightly cooked, beans and tofu dishes. Nuts, beans and tofu dishes are a fantastic source of protein as well as fiber and minerals. Foods that tend to add weight are those foods stripped of nutrients with only "empty" calories left. Examples of these products are most cereals, breads, pastas, cookies, crackers, breakfast tarts, frozen waffles, food from cans (except beans which are fine), sugary foods, sodas and most candy.

Food can be delicious and healthy at the same time. Even snacks. A few suggestions for healthy treats are homemade popcorn, guacamole or bean dip with carrot and celery sticks or baked corn chips, dried papaya or mango, and apple slices with pure peanut butter with nothing added - yummy! If you really want a soda, mix 1/2 glass of fresh orange juice with 1/2 glass of bubbly water - and you have a delicious orange soda. (Straight orange juice can be too much fruit sugar all at one time - it's better to dilute it.)

Remember one more thing, anyone can say anything - words are only ideas, but if you experience something, then you know it for sure. Experiment and see the results for yourself. If you feel better, clearer, more energetic, physically fit, and are looking good, well then, you've hit the truth.

Dr. Monica Moreno offers alternative healthcare services to children, adolescents and women in Miami, Florida. I found her unique practice of combining homeopathic medicine with acupuncture and colortherapy intriguing and was pleased when she agreed to an interview to be published in our publication's first issue. Her background is extensive and her heart is generous.

Sarah: According to the Acupuncture Alliance organization, the number of licensed acupuncturists in the U.S. is growing rapidly. For example in the fall of 1992 there were 5,525 and in the fall of 2000 this number jumped to 14,228. What is your opinion about this dramatic increase in practitioners?

Dr. Moreno: I believe that this increase is due mostly to the acceptance of acupuncture as an effective therapy. It has always been noted that the U.S. is one, if not the most, skeptical country when it comes to accepting non-conventional medicines or ancient healing techniques; however, by the approval and acceptance of the National Institute of Health (NIH), it has made the way a bit easier for acupuncturists to be believed and recognized. Also, insurance companies are being pressured by their insureds to pay for these therapies, should they decide, for example, to use acupuncture over an anti-inflammatory.

Sarah: From what I know about acupuncture, it is based on an energy system, which flows through our body. It has been discovered that this energy flows through meridians that stem from our center meridian, which begins at our head and ends at our tailbone. How do acupuncture needles placed along these pathways affect our heath, such as muscles and other organs?

Dr. Moreno: Acupuncture is based on the ancient Tao teachings, in which it is understood that man is one with his environment (nature). In order for health in either to exist, there must be balance. This balance is only achieved when the two energies Yin and Yang are balanced, and these two energies are tonified and/or subdued to achieve perfect harmony and good health. There are 12 meridians as well as several extra meridians, a basic of 365 points in the body, to which we ad spiritual points, auricular points and others. It might be easier to think of the body as a city with several electric plants. Each of its main buildings or structures represents a major organ and highways represent arteries. When one of the city's plants has a short circuit, it affects the rest of the city or a large part of it. Same with the body. If the Chi (electricity) of your Liver (airport) is not flowing properly, this stagnation may create an overflow block, impairing the function of that particular organ and all organs etc. depending on it.

Sarah: I understand you practice a similar technique with children called Samassati Colortherapy, which does not involve needles but instead uses the vibrational frequencies of colored light. From what I have read about color therapy and physical health, it is important to know that each organ in the body vibrates at a particular frequency, or is "supposed" to vibrate at this frequency. When the organ is not
holding this frequency, we may experience pain or other dysfunction. The vibrational frequencies of each organ can be matched with the vibration of certain colors, which can be determined by specifically designed devices measuring colored light. So, to make a long story short, when light therapy is given to your patients, this vibration resonates with the organ that is not vibrating properly and either brings the frequency up or down to it's proper vibration. Is this explanation accurate?

Dr. Moreno: Yes and to further the explanation, I would ad that color photons exist within the cells of our body. The photons' structure and color change when our body chemistry changes. For example when we feel a stressor (emotion) our body chemistry changes including the "colors" or if you prefer "vibrations". This information is carried through our central nervous system to the brain for a response. In turn, the brain issues a response and as we know, tries to bring the body to homeostasis (balance). If a child is hyperactive, there may be excess of the color red being sent to the brain, enhancing activity. We then balance it with the color green, its opposite, which changes the pattern and calms the child. Blue has a soothing effect, enhances peace, tranquility and is very effective for use in treating ADHD. Yellow is an anti-bacterial (throat infections) and also aids the digestive system (spleen/stomach).

Sarah: For those of us who are not familiar with this process, it may sound extremely subtle and hard to imagine. However I have heard therapies such as this are quite successful with the growing number of highly sensitive children being born. Can you share some "success" stories?
Dr. Moreno: Sometimes, results of this therapy amaze even me! I’ll mention two of my patients, as these two have been incredibly responsive to colorpuncture. One is a 6 year old little girl, who was referred to me by a psychologist who just did not know what to do with her. She was totally insomniac, slept only cat naps of maximum 20 minutes and then woke up energetically, as if she had slept 9 hours, however, her nervous system was beginning to take a toll and she was irritable, nervous and could not concentrate. I treated her just once with the color purple on the point named Yintang and she slept that night a total of 10 consecutive hours. Her mother was a happy woman! This was so fabulous, I took her to a national television program, so other people could see that there is sometimes no need for medication.

The other little girl is 9. When she was brought to me approximately 8 months ago, she was diagnosed with ADHD, OCD, Depression, Anxiety, and was on 5 different anti-psychotic medications and Ritalin. With a combination of behavior modification and colortherapy she is down to one half of one pill. Ritalin was the first one to be stopped, then the others. This of course was a combined effort of a very open minded pediatrician, psychologist, psychiatrist and myself. Open mindedness and teamwork pay for the sake of a child’s health. And by the way, she is doing wonderfully in school!

Sarah: "The AMA encourages doctors to become aware of alternative therapies and use them when and where appropriate," says AMA spokesman Jim Fox.2 In fact the American Homeopathic Pharmaceutical Association states that the number of homeopathic practitioners in the United States has increased greatly in the last 25 years from 200 in the 1970s to approximately 3,000 in 1996. Popularity in homeopathy is growing, especially as an option for treating children because all the ingredients are non-toxic. The natural ingredients used and the philosophy of diagnosis is why many parents are drawn to this modality. Homeopathy treats the whole person, meaning practitioners take into consideration other elements in addition to physical symptoms. For example, sleeping patterns, eating habits and emotional states. What types of children's ailments do you find homeopathy is successful in treating?

Dr. Moreno: EVERYTHING !!! Except emergency situations.

Sarah: What type of information do you typically gather from your patients in order to come up with the best remedy?
Dr. Moreno: This question brings a smile to my face, Sarah, you should see the parents' faces when I hand them my questionnaire on their child’s first visit to my office, especially if they are unfamiliar with homeopathy. It is 5 pages long! I want to know everything from skin to stool, from what they eat to what side they sleep on, if they have friends, if they have freckles. I work classical homeopathy, so the more I know about a child, the better it is for me to try and find their constitutional remedy.

Sarah: What remedies do you usually prescribe for children who have symptoms associated with Attention Deficit Disorder and hyperactivity?
Dr. Moreno: Homeopathy treats each individual, so if someone says that they have THE remedy for ADHD, they are not practicing true homeopathy. Some herbs are known to calm children; on these we can generalize a bit. Some examples are chamomile, linden and in some cases valerian root, however, this last one can become addictive in long terms users. I suggest that no one give their child an herb or a homeopathic remedy without consulting a professional in the field.

Sarah: I understand, homeopathic medicines fall under FDA regulations2, therefore, if a homeopathic remedy is prescribed to treat a serious disease such as cancer it must be sold by prescription. Is this accurate?

Dr. Moreno: In the State of Florida where I practice, in order to legally prescribe homeopathic remedies one must be licensed as either an MD or as an Acupuncturist, however, you find some homeopathy on the shelves of drugs stores and health food stores. These are generally lower potencies and must have the indications on the labels according to FDA regulations. And again, it is important to remember that ones persons' remedy for a specific symptom may not be for another who suffers from the same symptom, as the practice of this medicine is very individualized.

Think back to your grade school experience. Did you look forward to school? Did you truly enjoy school? Did you feel that what you were learning was meaningful and relevant to your life? Were you able to explore your true interests and fully develop your innate abilities?

If you answered "no" to any of the above questions, how would your school experience have had to be different for you to be able to say "yes"?Now, imagine if you had attended a school where the only curriculum you followed was the one you created by discovering and exploring your interests. Imagine if you were not tested unless you asked to be. Imagine if electing your teachers was a normal yearly affair. And imagine if it all happened in a respectful, democratic community. Had you attended a school like that, do you think you would still have become a functional, contributing adult? And if you could offer that opportunity to your children, do you think they would become functional adults? After 34 years of operation, the Sudbury Valley School in Framingham, Massachusetts has proven that educational freedom in a democratic setting produces highly functioning adults who exhibit high self-esteem, strong self-confidence and intense inner motivation. And now, the Indigo Sudbury Campus, Edmonton’s first Sudbury School, is set to begin the same tradition.
But how can that be in a school with no curriculum, no testing?
All humans are naturally curious and driven to challenge themselves. Does not the mountain climber who has conquered one face progress to a more difficult face? Does not the scientist who has made one discovery go on to seek another? Human beings don’t like to be bored. Only through challenging ourselves and constantly learning new things do we remain satisfied and "alive." That is as true for children as it is for adults. The Sudbury Valley School has proven that when children are free to follow their passions and interests, they do a magnificent job of educating themselves. John, at age four, is fascinated by whales but realizes he needs to be able to read in order to satisfy his desire for more information about them; so, he learns to read. Maria is fascinated by architecture, but has never studied math. Now she has a personal reason to learn it so she does. Chris, a theatre enthusiast, has never focused on writing. His passion for drama and his desire to write a play
drive him to ask for writing classes.
The motivation that drives Johnny, Maria and Chris to learn ensures that they do learn. There is no memorization, no "cramming." but rather passion, a need for information, its direct and immediate application. All this leads to retention. As for evaluation, is it necessary here? Does this kind of learning need to be graded, proven? At a Sudbury Valley School (there are many across the world) evaluation other than testing arises naturally from daily life. It takes place in ways such as: introspection (a personal sense of satisfaction or dissatisfaction), spontaneous feedback from others, achieving success or encountering failure, and being able to communicate what’s been learned. So perhaps educational freedom is not a bad idea… but what about structure? Don’t children need structure? There is no lack of structure at a Sudbury School. The organization of the school rests on democracy, which creates structures such as: staff and student created laws, a weekly school
Continued Page 7
meeting (run according to parliamentary
procedure), judicial duties, certification procedures, committees, clerks, and corporations. That’s Sudbury Valley jargon. What does it represent?
The weekly school meeting is the forum where all students and staff have an equal vote on all matters relating to the day-to-day operation of the school. Matters such as budget, expenditures, staff elections, the formation of corporations and other questions are considered and voted on by staff and students of all ages. The Judicial Committee, made up of students and a staff member, reviews on a daily basis complaints filed about broken school rules. The committee investigates the complaints and ensures that a meaningful consequence is worked out to help correct the problem. Clerkships are positions that allow students and staff to assume responsibility for a particular aspect of school management and hold this responsibility throughout the year. Students and staff can also become involved in committees and corporations. Corporations form as interests are developed and become a focal point for a larger group. They finance projects and ensure the procurement, proper usage and maintenance of equipment as well as being responsible for "certifying" students who wish to use equipment and have use of the corporation’s facility. So, neither structure nor learning is missing at a Sudbury School. And freedom, joy, passion and responsibility are fully present. Is there anything else, then, that is required to make this educational approach a success? TRUST. Trust on the part of the parents. Parents need to believe in the school philosophy and release any tendency to direct their child’s learning. And they need to understand and accept the non-interfering and non-directing approach of staff members. And with all these elements in place, a Sudbury School can produce whole, highly functioning adults. We, at Edmonton’s Indigo Sudbury Campus, are looking forward to watching it happen in the same way the successful Sudbury schools have been doing for years! Opening Fall 2003 By Sarah WoodA Sudbury School may be opening near you!!
Sudbury L.A. School is scheduled to open in Fall of 2003 in Los Angeles County. Upon opening, the school will serve children ages five to twelve years old during the first year. Each year thereafter, one year will be added until 2009, when a goal of five to eighteen years old is achieved. Current admissions are open to children who have the capacity for full participation in the school's program as self-directed, autonomous members of the school's community. New students are admitted year-round and enrollment is for a full year from the date of entry. The organization is currently looking for a site on the Westside of Los Angeles. An ideal property would be at least two acres with either an existing building large enough to accommodate 200 students or space to construct such a building. It is also important that this location have easy access to nature, businesses, and museums. Michael & Angelina Hart and Kym & Tonya Sandis came together with a common vision about opening a Sudbury school in the L.A. area. Both couples are parents and have backgrounds in psychology and entertainment. They are passionate about providing their children with Sudbury education.

To Label or Not To Label. This is the Question

By Sarah Wood Copyright 2003 Sarah Wood

Some of the symptoms associated with ADD and ADHD are similar to the characteristics of Indigo children and therefore numerous parents and experts agree many children have been misdiagnosed with ADD and ADHD. This misinterpretation of behaviors brings us to questions about the value of labeling. Is it beneficial to use a title such an Attention Deficit Disorder to describe a child and what effects does this have on the child? ADD has become so mainstream that many of us have forgotten what the acronym stands for. If you take a moment to look closely, “Deficit” and “Disorder” are quite negative and affect a child’s self esteem. Will a child labeled ADD feel they have the ability to one day overcome the “disorder” or will they believe the “disorder” is theirs for life? These are important questions to ask before labeling a child with titles such as ADD and ADHD.Is it ever beneficial to use labels such as ADD and ADHD? Personally I found myself having difficulty paying attention in certain situations. I had trouble completing projects and felt inferior at times due to my lack of focus. As a young adult I researched the subject of ADD and learned what the typical symptoms are and the experiences of other people who believe to have this disorder. This was an amazing discovery for me because I finally figured out “what was wrong with me.” Moreover, I wasn’t the only person with this problem. Hallelujah! I felt understood and a part of a group rather than on my own.I do not intend to answer the question, “Is it right to label?”, however I do hope to put the question on the table for you to look at. I will share with you that I believe there is a difference between a doctor or parent giving a child a label verses a person who associates the title with herself due to her own self discovery. This is because the person who names himself can easily un-name himself when he feels the label no longer serves him.Is calling a child an Indigo child considered labeling? In this case the word “Indigo” does not have a negative implication so you might say it is the same as stating a child is a “bright” child. Webster defines label as a “descriptive or identifying word or phrase.” Why do we need to describe and identify? We all have our own reasons for needing to distinguish and classify. Possibly we want to understand, to help, to change, or maybe to rationalize. In a perfect world we will not need to understand or rationalize another’s behavior or our own. We will enjoy the behavior just as it is, for what it is and not need to give it a name. In the mean time let us understand why we personally use the labels we use.Learning what it means to be Indigo and applying this insight to a child’s environment is a wonderful gift one can give to a child. Understanding that your child’s “lack of concentration” is due to her active intuition is a fresh perspective. Becoming aware of your child’s hypoglycemia as relates to his mood is enlightening for the whole family. Accepting that non-conforming behaviors are in fact positive and blend in beautifully with family life is easy when we stop for a moment to see the potential for innovation and creativity. If we as parents and teachers are not physically or emotionally sensitive, it is essential that we familiarize ourselves with this state, even if just in theory so that we can better assist and communicate with our sensitive children. And lastly, it is advantageous for everyone involved to learn that children with high energy need lots of physical activities and shorter lengths of time sitting still. If your child has characteristics associated with ADD or ADHD it may be beneficial to read up on the subject to better understand the perspective and feelings one experiences who has these attributes. The Attention Deficit Disorder Association (add.org) has some wonderful stories describing what it is like to have ADD. Reading these stories may affect you in a special way as you look through the author’s eyes into their dynamic world.

You may also be interested in learning more about Indigo children. Two books written on the subject are “Indigo Children” by Lee Carroll and Jan Tober and “The Care and Feeding of Indigo Children” by Doreen Virtue. I have found meditation techniques to be a perfect tool for children who are creative, bursting with energy, and intuitive. The book you are holding and reading now is an excellent course for learning how to teach children these centering skills. Utilizing the techniques discussed in this book with your children will open doors you never knew existed and give your child one of the most valuable keys to finding happiness and knowing peace.

It is possible that your child's impulsively could be a reaction to the very real intuitive information they are receiving. In addition, hyperactivity can also be a reaction to intuitive information. For example if your child senses certain adults are "stressed out" they may act out in order to distract the adult from the stress or may be mirroring the adult's stress to them so that they may become aware of it. Lastly, distractibility may be caused by the sporadic intuitive information they receive through out the day.

Listen to Me!
By Bo, a Baby Dolphin

Hello Children

I’m a dolphin. I’m only four months old. I live in the waters surrounding a beautiful island called Bimini in the Bahamas. I have a couple of helpful hints for you that just may just give you enough courage to start living your lives like you would if you weren’t so afraid.

Look, I know it’s hard to be a child. I’m only four months old. A four month old dolphin is kind of like a six year old human child. I’m very smart and I’m also very stubborn. I have to swim by my mother’s side and sometimes that rule that makes me really mad

I have a twin sister named Fiona. She’s a very good sister. She does everything my mother asks her to do and she never complains. She never even complains about staying by our mother’s side!

I’ve got a bad temper. Even though I’m only four months old I think I should be able to live my life the way I want to. I sometimes feel like I’m in prison. I have to follow all the rules that my mother asks me to follow and I have to stay close to my pod. A pod, by the way, is a dolphin community.

I just wish all the adults in my pod would listen to me. I’ve got really good ideas. I really do know more than most four month old dolphins. I know more than Fiona. She really has a lot to learn.

At least Fiona loves me enough to listen to my ideas. Fiona and I have very long conversations about angels and what life would be like if all dolphins listened to their angels.

My friend Bly who is a very wise adult dolphin said many of you who are reading this letter have problems like I do with life. She said that many you who are reading this letter have been called stubborn, angry and willful. She said many of you get in trouble with your teachers. She said that often your parents have no idea how to raise you because you are so different from other children.

She said, without exception, you are very, very smart. She said most of you have every intention of being good but something goes on in your mind that makes you say things like “I don’t believe you! or “You’re wrong!” or “You don’t know what’s best for me!” You say those things when adults ask you to do things that don’t feel helpful. In other words you don’t believe that following their instructions is going to teach you anything new.

Bly said you are just like me. You always want to learn something different. She said your parents ask you to do things like eat your dinner, go to bed on time, do your homework, listen to your teachers, spell correctly, talk politely to people you don’t like, keep on studying for your test even when you know all the answers, sit up straight, make your bed, clean your room, and wear clean clothes. If you don’t do those things your parents ask you to do them until you do. It’s so boring isn’t it!!

But you know what else Bly told me? She said most of the time adults really do know what’s best for you. I, for example, really must swim by my mother’s side. She doesn’t make me swim by her side because she’s mean. She makes me swim by my side to keep me safe.

Bu gets hurt by a shark and learns about Courage

I’m very small. I don’t know much about keeping myself away from sharks. Sharks eat dolphins. I saw my friend get hurt by a shark. My friend was about twelve months old. A one year old dolphin is like a eight year old human child. My friend, whose name is Bu, is just like me. He’s very independent and he’s very smart. He goes off on adventures all by himself.

One day Bu’s mother said he could swim one mile away from the pod. She said he should never swim further than that because he could get into trouble with sharks. Instead of swimming one mile he swam five miles. He found a big school of fish so he began to catch them and eat them. He forgot that his mother had told him to swim one mile and immediately come back because the pod was about to swim to a different area of the ocean to hunt.

When he didn’t return on time him mother got very worried. She sent a search party out to find Bu. Five dolphins found Bu but it was almost too late. A big shark called a hammerhead shark bumped into Bu and bit him in the side. The five adult dolphins chased the shark away but the shark turned around and swam back towards them. They took charge and they really scared the shark. They didn’t fight the shark. They didn’t chase it and they didn’t get angry. They sent the shark a navy blue color I call Courage. They sent the navy blue color from their hearts.

This navy blue color is called a Ray of Joy. Joy is what you feel when you are so happy that you get up and laugh and play and run around. Joy is what you feel when you are getting along with your family and you’ve just been given permission to do something new.

There are about twenty Rays of Joy. Courage is one of my favorites. My friend Bly sends me the Ray of Courage when I’m afraid I’ve been badly behaved. Whenever she gives me Courage I become brave enough to do whatever it is I’ve been asked to do.

You know how it goes. Sometimes you are a bit afraid to behave because if you do your parents or teachers and other adults won’t realize how very definitely you have another way of looking at life. You are afraid they won’t have any reason to listen to your opinion.

When Bly gives me Courage I feel very joyful and I say to myself “I’m very important and I’ve got very strong opinions. I’ll ask that adult to please sit down and talk to me later. Right now I’ll do as I’ve been told. I do know that even children as smart and full of great ideas as me have a lot to learn from adults.”

You know what! The more I behave and do what my mother and Bly ask me to do the more freedom they give me. So ask your parents to give you Courage if they notice you are upset about something they’ve asked you to do. If you feel really grumpy about being asked to do something give yourself the Ray of Courage. Just imagine yourself being surrounded by navy blue.

Calm, centered , focused dolphins scare sharks

You are probably wondering what happened to the shark when the five adults sent him Courage. Sharks don’t like to receive Rays of Joy from dolphins. The Ray of Courage really makes them anxious. Sharks want dolphins to be afraid of them. A fearful dolphin is a weak dolphin and sharks want dolphins to be weak.

Before adult dolphins send a shark Courage they send one another Courage. They become very calm and all their fear of the shark disappears. They became focused. They focus clearly on the shark’s behaviors. They also become centered. When you are centered you are very aware of your body and you move your body efficiently. No shark wants to mess with a calm, focused, centered dolphin.

Bly said some of you put up with mean children and sometimes mean adults called bullies. If a bully ever bothers you send the bully Courage but don’t forget surround yourself in Courage first. That bully might get worried and walk away.

Bo hits his head, heals himself and learns about The Blessing

I want to tell you another story. This is a story about my first attempt to leave my mother’s side. I was only one month old. I was only about three feet long. I was one of four new born dolphins in my pod. One of course was Fiona. The others were named Skip and Grip. Fiona, Skip, Grip and I loved to take turns swimming around in circles. Our mother’s always supervised us when we played.

I really love swimming in circles. One day I got a bit bored so I left my mother’s side and began swimming in circles around my mother. Everybody else in my pod was relaxing. I kept swimming faster and faster.

All of a sudden a completely terrible thing happened. I got dizzy and bumped into my mother. I really hurt myself. I hit my head so hard that I got what you call a headache and I began to cry.

My mother asked for help. She said very loudly “My son Bo just hit his head and he’s very upset. Will you please help me help him feel better.” Everybody in the pod surrounded me and sent me a beautiful forest green ray we call Blessing.

I was really afraid I was going to die. I had never had a headache before and I thought my head was going to blow up. But the minute everyone gave me The Blessing I began to calm down. Then I began to notice how my head really felt. There was one spot over my right eye that really hurt. I felt better when I realized that was the only place that really hurt.

I heart a very loud voice telling me to fill that spot above my eye with the forest green color of The Blessing. That voice was the voice of my friend Bim. Bim’s one of my angels. Bim is a very big whale who lives in another place called Vu. Vu is a place where dolphins and whales live. They don’t really have bodies. They don’t have to eat and certainly don’t have anything to be afraid of.

Bim and his friends are what you call angels. Angels help dolphins and people learn to live happy lives.

Bim’s my best friend. I really think he knows me better than my mother. He doesn’t ever get angry with me even when I’m badly behaved. I really trust Bim. I know he loves me very much.

I filled that painful place above my right eye with the forest green color of the blessing and the pain went away. I became very centered. When you are centered you are very aware of your body. You notice how your body feels.

I began to move my head back and forth and up and down. I felt nothing but happiness when I realized I wasn’t going to die.

I told my pod very loudly that I felt better and I thanked them very much for their help. I also thanked Bim for his help. My mother gave me a big kiss and so did Bly. They said they were very proud of me. They said that I proved to every other young dolphin that even the very young can heal their own bodies and take care of their biggest problems.

All young dolphins and children really need to do is learn to listen to their angels. Bly said you all have angels and many of you are good at listening to your angels.

Bly said that sometimes there are problems between you and your parents because your parents have forgotten how to listen to their own angels. You have to realize that parents have a lot of responsibility. The biggest job in the whole wide world is taking care of young children and young dolphins. Parents must work very hard to provide us with food. They also must keep us safe. All that hard work can make a parent tired. Sometimes when you are tired you are so grumpy that you don’t have enough patience to listen to your angels.

Bo says he’s sorry for being self centered and feels very loved

I have to start listening to Bim more carefully. Sometimes I get so self-centered that I forget about everyone else in my pod. I even forget about Fiona. When you are self-centered all you care about is yourself.

Sometimes all I feel like doing is swimming in circles and leaping out of the water. Bim says that playing hard is very good for me but there are times when playing isn’t a good idea. I was being self-centered when I swam in circles and hurt my head so badly. Everyone in the pod was relaxing. Dolphins need to relax. They love to relax and breathe very deeply.

I learned from that very bad experience of hurting my head that being self-centered and playing when I was supposed to be relaxing was very hard on not only me but everyone in my pod. I did something very grown up when I realized how my self-centered behavior of playing during the time for relaxation upset everyone else. Nobody complained about my behavior but I knew I disturbed their rest. Dolphins need to rest so they have enough energy to catch fish.

I said I was sorry to everyone in my pod. I gathered them all around me and said “I’m very sorry I disturbed your rest. I was very self-centered.” Every single pod member came up to me and gave me a big kiss. I began to cry and told them I felt loved.
Then everybody began to cry. We weren’t crying because we were sad. We were crying because we felt so much love for one another.

I noticed that everyone had beautiful love light coming from their hearts. There are many kinds of love light. This love light was a beautiful red color. We were surrounded in this red love light that was very similar to the red of a big red delicious apple.

Bim says being still and breathing deeply helps you listen

Bim started to talk to all of us and we all listened very carefully. We all breathed deeply and kept very still.

Bim said “You’ve taken a big step. You’ve learned that being still and breathing deeply helps you listen to one another. When you listen you learn a great deal about love.” Then Bim told the grownups that they had learned a great deal about helping the very young learn to love. Bim said that by giving me nothing but love when I hurt my head the adults helped me learn how my self-centered behavior affected them.

Bim said that I felt so much better after being given The Blessing that I was able to listen to Bim more carefully. As a result I helped myself feel even better. I also realized that I wasn’t being kind to everyone else by playing when I wasn’t supposed to.

Bly said that you have the same ability that I do to give yourself and other the lovely navy blue Ray of Courage and the soothing Ray of The Blessing. She said that you too can sit quietly, breathe deeply and listen to your angels. She said that you can also learn to be kind and considerate to everyone in your world.

Bly said you are very smart, gifted children. She said you are going to be special leaders when you grow up. She said some of you will be very great parents who lead your own children the way my mother and Bly have led me. She said some of you will become community leaders and even political leaders. Some of you will be wonderful teachers. Bly said you are going to change the world!!

I’m very happy to have you as my new friends. I’d love it if you would write me a letter. I can’t wait to hear how well you are doing with the Rays of Courage and The Blessing. I’m so excited to know that you too will begin to sit quietly, breathe and listen to your angels.

My friend Kathy who talks to me all the time said she’d publish your letters in various places. She said she’d also publish my answers to your letters. I’m so happy! I’m going to making so many new friends!!

You can reach me through my friend Kathy. You can send her an email. Her email address is Kathy@BlueDolphinEssences.com.

You can of course just sit and say “Bo, I’ve got something to tell you.” I promise I’ll listen. Bim, Bly and my mother will tell me when I need to calm down and listen to you. If you sit quietly, breathe and listen you just might hear me say something back to you.

I’ve got to go now children. I’m supposed to learn how to help Fiona be still and breathe. I’m learning to be a teacher.

Good bye for now,
Your friend Bo
